Congratulations, 2G! Students worked together to fill up our Community Cube Jar this week. We'll be voting on a way to celebrate on Monday. We absolutely made the most of our three days. Please enjoy these highlights of our studies:
Character Dress Up Day: Wow! Students put so much thought into making our favorite book characters come to life. We had a wonderful morning guessing who each character was. Throughout the rest of the day we enjoyed special snacks (We each made our own Banana Ghost) as well as other Halloween word and number activities. We topped off the celebration with a dance party...we could take our 2G show on the road!
Math: The Mission of Addition! Mathematicians us place value to help solve horizontal addition problems. The focus on grouping ones, tens, and hundreds will help our mental problem solving as we learn. Next week we'll be engaging in the Action of Subtraction.
Literacy: Readers began new stories in their guided reading centers. An important element of our reading groups, is working on our words rings that contain trick words found within our books. 2G is making wonderful progress with reading for meaning.
Fundations: "ink", "ank", "unk", and "onk" were our glued sounds this week. I think students did a wonderful job learning how to use these sounds.
Thank you for your support!
Have a great week.
