What a wonderful week! 2G students were certainly busy bees this week. We're off to a spectacular start in the New Year! Please enjoy these highlights of our studies:
Literacy: Students chose a specific person to study for their biography unit. We spent the week researching many special people and hunting for important information. We are recording important facts on Post-its. These Post-its will be applied to a poster/graphic organizer to help get us ready for writing our own versions of biographies. Go, readers!
Math: Our time tellers completed their time unit this week. We concluded our study by exploring time to the minute and time passing. I am so proud of our mathematicians. In addition, students learned how to do Sudoku puzzles. We are up for the challenge!
Social Studies: Our Japan studies were a real treat - literally! On Tuesday, Hiroki's mom and Yuta's mom brought Japanese foods for us to taste. While we enjoyed Udon noodle soup with tofu and seaweed toppings, we practiced using chopsticks! Photos of our special day are posted in our hallway. Students also presented their Japan posters, highlighting different aspects of the Japanese culture.
Publishing: On Friday, writers published their "All About" Books. This was our first time segmenting our writing in chapters. We clearly have experts on several different topics in 2G. Please enjoy your writer's book this weekend.
Enjoy a wonderful week.
