We had an amazing first full week in 2D. Students are knocking my socks off! Enjoy reading highlights of our studies.
Collage Share: Students did an INCREDIBLE job creating and sharing their collages. We celebrate all of the things that make us amazing individuals each day. They are hanging up in our classroom. Come on in and take a look!
Writing Workshop: "What I Want to Be When I Grow Up" writing - so many wonderful goals!
Social Studies: We began our geography study with a focus on understanding the cardinal directions and maps reflecting a "bird's eye view".
Literacy: Students were introduced to several different word sorting and reading centers that will be part of our routine in the upcoming weeks. A big focus in our reading studies right now is "tracking", making sure we are reading carefully and keeping track as we build fluency.
Math: Number line mania! Students have been using a number line to solve addition/subtraction problems as well as skip counting challenges.
Science: This week's motion lessons focused on determining if weight affects an objects speed. 2D is making great predictions before we experiment.
Scholastic News: Every other week we will read our Scholastic Newspaper. Students learned the significance of different sections of each article focusing on safety.
We hope you had a wonderful weekend!
